On January 27, the SecureDrop 1.7.0 update affected the availability of some longer running SecureDrop instances. This was due to a bug introduced by a recent code change (more details).

We have identified the root cause and will be releasing SecureDrop 1.7.1 shortly. Upon release, your instance should be automatically updated within 24h, and both Source and Journalist Interface functionality will be restored.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and will undertake additional steps to improve automated testing to reduce the likelihood of future errors of this kind.
