Come work on SecureDrop at the Electronic Frontier Foundation offices on Wednesday, August 15, 2018! Event details:
- Location: 815 Eddy St, San Francisco, CA 94109
- Date: 6:00PM to 9:00PM
SecureDrop is a whistleblower submission system that media organizations use to securely accept documents from and communicate with anonymous sources. Originally written by Aaron Swartz, it has been maintained by Freedom of the Press Foundation since 2013. Dozens of news organizations including the Associated Press, Al Jazeera, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and many others now use SecureDrop.
We welcome contributions of all kinds! In addition to writing code and documentation (SecureDrop is written in Python, Ansible, Bash and HTML/SASS/JavaScript), we also need help translating SecureDrop into other languages. If you have design or UX skills, we would love your help with the upcoming SecureDrop Workstation based on Qubes OS.
If you’d like to get started early, check out https://securedrop.org/hackathon for an overview of how to contribute.
Pizza will be provided, and there will be vegan and vegetarian options!
