SecureDrop 2.6.1 Released

We’re pleased to announce that SecureDrop 2.6.1 has been released. This point release includes a fix related to provisioning and updating Journalist Workstations. The complete list of changes can be found on GitHub.

What’s new in SecureDrop 2.6.1?

For administrators

  • Deployment: This release addresses an issue in the provisioning logic that prevented Journalist Workstations from being updated or provisioned (Issue, Pull Request)

What administrators need to do

This point release contains an update for Tails workstations only. Server code is not affected and will remain at version 2.6.0.

For information about updating the Tails workstations, please see our upgrade guide.

We also recommend upgrading to Tails 5.16.1, which includes important security fixes related to the recent Downfall and Inception vulnerabilities.
