Today we are releasing two versions of SecureDrop Workstation: 1.6.2, for systems still running Qubes 4.2, and 1.7.1 for systems that have already been upgraded to Qubes 4.3.
These releases remove access to the legacy SecureDrop Client application, which is now end-of-life.
SecureDrop Workstation 1.6.2 also provides a script to allow administrators to more easily prepare their SecureDrop Workstations for the upgrade to Qubes 4.3.
What administrators need to know
Our migration guide contains the full set of instructions to upgrade to Qubes 4.3, including information about using the new preparation script.
As a reminder, administrators must complete the upgrade before Qubes OS 4.2 reaches end-of-life on June 21. The process will take approximately 4-6 hours.
If you have any questions about the upgrade process, would like guidance with the upgrade, or encounter any problems along the way, please contact SecureDrop support via Signal.
